Impacts of Global Warming and Climate Change

Question: Why Globe is warming who is responsible? Answer: Introduction Climate change and global warming is the biggest environmental issue in current situation. The whole world is concern about the increasing temperature of the earth which is leading to a change in the climate and overall environment. The whole world is affected by this change in climate which is destroying the natural harmony of the ecosystem. Every species living here is in danger with their existence. Human being is the only species in this earth who are civilized as well as responsible for this destruction. The civilization of the human being is increasing the green house gas in the atmosphere which is creating this change in the climate. The only way to save our earth is to minimize the pollution by the human civilization. We are already late to do this but still there is time to take initiative by us to minimize the environmental pollution and save our earth (Black and Weisel, 2010). Why Globe is warming who is responsible? In recent past human civilization has developed many times resulted in huge increase in industrialization, deforestation and vehicle emission which are the main reason of global warming. Continuous air pollution is affecting the ozone layer of the atmosphere which is becoming weaker day by day and failing to protect our earth from the ultraviolet radiation of sunlight. Due to deforestation the ratio of trees in the earth is decreasing which is helping to accelerate the process. The main cause of global warming is the increase of carbon dioxide layer in the atmosphere, which is acting as a blanket by not allowing the release of heat from the earths surface. All the species is affected in this earth for this global warming and we are the only responsible species for this, which we have no right to do this (Brown, 2015). Impact of Global Warming The incident of global warming is impacting the whole earth and every species lives here. The impact of global warming has started to show its result as there are many visible changes are happening in the environment more over it is impacting the global climate and the economy also. Impact on the climate is the most as the overall heat of the earth is increasing. The temperature of ocean water has increased by 0.72 degree centigrade and regional temperatures have increased by 2 to 3 degree centigrade throughout the world. Heat wave has increased killing lot of peoples and animals (Cooke, 2014). Ice in the polar region has started to melt which is increasing the sea level. There are more incidents of hurricanes happening in every part of the world. This climate change is affecting the living organism of this earth. The birds and animals are shifting towards the higher altitude where they are getting the low temperature for survival. The sea planktons are also shifting and adapting high temperature. The human beings are also affected by the climate change not only by the environment but also by the economy. Economy of the whole world is affected by the environmental and climate change and it is projected that there will be a huge recession in the near future as al l the natural recourses are going to be destroyed by this effect. The gradual warming of the earth will be impacting the ecosystem by more freezing, more warming, more raining which will transform the way plant, animal and landforms interact (Haugen, Musser and Lovelace, 2010). What can we expect? Since we are responsible for the change in environment so it is our duty to check and rectify the way it is changing. The change is not happening for anything good rather the situation is getting from bad to the worst. With our approach towards the earth and its environment we can expect the worst result if we do not change ourselves (Www2.ucar.edu, 2015). Natural calamities will be increasing day by day; there will be unnatural snowfall, rain, flood, which will ultimately destroy the environment and its living organisms. Change in climate is affecting the trees and the agriculture. It is being predicted that 20% to 30 % of plant and animal species will be extinct for this global warming. The character of the sea is also changing very fast the sea is losing its property of alkaline and getting more acidic in nature which is the biggest risk for the survival of sea plankton (Nrdc.org, 2015). How can we dealt climate change greenhouse effect The green house effect and the climate change is a global problem so it is very important to take initiative by each and every government to deal with this problem. There should be international agreement which will describe clearly about the precautions which every country should take. Deal with this problem there was an international agreement which was signed by the states in Kyoto city December 1997 which is known as the Kyoto protocol. This protocol agrees with the industrialized countries to reduce the greenhouse gas emission by 5.2% compared to the year 1990 but if it is compared to the year 2010 it will be 29% reduction. The goal of this protocol was to reduce six greenhouse gases which are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, sulfur hexafluoride, HFCs and PFCs. Only protocols are not enough to reduce the greenhouse effect, analyzing the current scenario we have to take other initiatives also to minimize the impact of greenhouse gas and climate changes (Reed, 2015). The in itiatives which can be taken are Renewable energy Most of the pollution which is occurring these days is the energy sources. The industries, transportations are burning huge amount of fuel and energy which are the main source of carbon dioxide emission. To reduce this emission we should find other alternative energy which will not pollute our air. We should have the vision of 100% renewable energy by 2050 to protect the natural world from the impact of the climate change. Most of the government should take initiative to shift their energy source from fossil fuel towards the renewable energy because one third of the total emission comes from fossil fuel (Stainforth, 2014). Low carbon transport Since transportation is one of the biggest users of fossil fuel so there is a huge need to replace this by any low carbon producer energy. Many companies are inventing many technologies by which they are replacing their fossil fuel cars by other sources. Battery cars are one of the biggest inventions towards this approach which will store solar energy to run the car. Only electric transportation will not solve the problem because the electricity is being produced from the fossil fuels. The more and more storage of solar energy, hydroelectric and other sources of renewable energy will be able to solve the problems. We should try hydrogen energy because it does not produce carbon but gives the same power like fossil fuel (The IPCC news circuit, 2015). Preserving Forest Due to huge industrialization there was huge deforestation was done throughout the world. So the normal ratio of tree is decreasing rapidly which is creating a huge impact on the environment and the ecosystem. Trees are very important to our ecosystem. Whatever we do for our environment everything will be worthless without enough trees on this planet. Trees are the only purifier of our air and there is no alternative available to this. So each one of us should take the initiative to save our trees and plant more trees to save our world. This is the only way we can save our planet from the possible destruction. Due to climate change we are losing many forest such as the mangrove of Sundarbon is going to abolish from this earth, the forest like Amazon is also affected by this global climate changes. If we are unable to save this kind of huge forest then it will create a huge impact on the environment. More international initiative should be taken to save those forest s (UN and Climate Change, 2015). Change in human approach Human civilization has grown a lot in the last 200 years. The pace of this growth is in the maximum in the last 50 years. This growth in human civilization has given much advancement to the daily life but in turn it is in securing the future of our planet. All the living species is under the threat of survival only for us. so it is very important to change our approach towards our planet. We have done everything for us only but we have never thought about their impact (www.acceleration.net, 2015). This is the time when we should behave properly to reduce the pollution from each and every aspect. In our daily life we should take small initiative to minimize the pollution and we should educate others who are not following then only we will be able to reduce the effect greenhouse gas. Not only UN or any countrys government will be able to stop this pollution until and unless each one of us is taking the responsibility and oath to gift a better earth to our futu re generation (Wwf.org.au, 2015).
